Soal B )
10. Our Friends might stopped to
see us on their way in California.
A
B C D
Wrong
word : A. Stopped
It should be “Stop” because it show the possibility in past. We know the
sentence was using might. It means that the situation in past. If we use might,
we can’t using V2 after that . We should use V1 after the word of might. Or, we
can use stopped if the situation has possibly happened now or
happened at some time in the past. But we should use might have not only might.
( Soal C )
10.
John went to the mountains on his vacation, and we had
gone too.
A B C D
Wrong
word : D. Had gone
It should be “Did” because it’s kind of affirmative agreement. When indicating
that one or thing does something and then adding that another does the same, we
use affirmative agreement. When any verb except be appears without any
auxiliaries in the main clause, the auxiliary do, does or did is used in simple
sentence. The subject and verb must agree and the tense must be the same. We
know the situation in the sentence in past, so we should use “Did” to show the affirmative
agreement.
